Take me away on a summers dream

Straddie Island and it's beautifull hidden treasure

A weekend away from the city was just what i needed, so a bus, a ferry and another bus we landed on Straddie Island, surf board in toe.
Its untouched beaches and the beautifull and hippy hillside retreate was enough to keep me smiling for a week.

'The Headlands' is not advertised though any website nor in the paper or the lonely planet, So I was lucky enough to be reccomended to stay there by my New Yorker friend and I was not disapointed.

Hidden away down a dirt track was what I can only describe to you as hippy heaven. Ramshackled log cabins, brightly painted and beautifully decorated with local art and random pieces of African sculpture. A swimming pool and BBQ area just added to exsperince.

We had the only room with the ocean as our back drop and I could have stayed there for another life time.

If you ever get over to my neck of the woods I will take you away to the world that doesnt need Televison and give you the place that offers derelict beaches and beautiful crystal clear sea that is as blue as the summer sky.
